In this painting, I did not follow my usual style of coloring below the line, here I went only with the values and some digital brushes. It was hard to do it in a short time, however I see that I could improve my spots in the future with more practice.

OCTOBER 2024 ART CHALLENGE - DESIGN A MONSTER HUNTER WILDS BIOME/LOCATION - For this months challenge, you are tasked with creating a location/setting for Monster Hunter Wilds. Good environment/biome concept art includes cutaways of flora and fauna, that all fit together in the ecosystem that you've created. For example, you wouldn't have tropical looking plant life in a tundra, and you wouldn't have hairy, thick fur animals in a really cold setting either. Try to give a lot of thought to your biome. Try to incorporate gameplay mechanics into your location (are there narrow pathways that the player might use to climb up a dangerous cliffside? If so, are there dangerous animals or plantlife on that narrow pathway? Try to incorporate hints of history, ancient architecture, and LIVE in that space for a moment. Tell me about what happened in that spot 1 year ago, 10 years ago, 100 years ago etc. If monsters had been battling each other there last week, there would be a corpse. If natives used the bones, the corpse would be scavenged, or cut up. If animales ate that corpse, or built their nest around it, that would be visible in your concept. Would that battle have torn down the trees, or cut up the rocks? Would equipment still be laying around from this battleground? Whats all of that look like? Tell a story with your biome.
